“I Was Naked” – A Call to Clothe with Dignity - 4th Sunday of Lent

  • First Congregational Church of Bakersfield-UCC 5 Real Road Bakersfield, CA, 93309 United States (map)

Pastor: Rev. Jenell Mahoney
Scripture: Matthew 25:31-46

To be naked is to be vulnerable.

Jesus said, “I was naked, and you clothed me.” This is more than just a call to provide clothing—it’s an invitation to restore dignity, to cover shame, to offer protection.

How often do we see people stripped—of their rights, their confidence, their hope? How do we clothe one another with compassion in a world that often leaves people exposed and unprotected?

Let’s reflect on what it means to wrap others in love and dignity, just as Christ does for us.

Join us as we continue our Lenten journey together.
