“I Was a Prisoner” – A Call to Set Others Free - 6th Sunday of Lent

  • First Congregational Church of Bakersfield-UCC 5 Real Road Bakersfield, CA, 93309 United States (map)

Pastor: Rev. Nancy Bacon
Scripture: Matthew 25:31-46

What does it mean to be imprisoned?

Jesus tells us, “I was in prison, and you visited me.” But prisons are not just made of walls and bars—people are imprisoned by fear, shame, addiction, poverty, and injustice.

How is God calling us to break chains, restore dignity, and offer hope to those who feel trapped?

This Palm Sunday, we reflect on freedom, forgiveness, and redemption—preparing our hearts for the sacrifice and victory of Easter.

Worship with us as we step into Holy Week together.
